DUI – Inaccurate Testing for Driver Intoxication

06/18/2009 - Suskauer Law Blog - Link to This Entry

A DUI is a serious offense, with potential severe repercussions for an individual’s driver’s license, liberty and criminal record. A DUI arrest, however, does not prove guilt. Breathalyzers, such as the Intoxilyzer 8000 used in Florida, measure a driver’s Blood Alcohol Content (BAC). The results from the breathalyzer have been proven to be often inaccurate. In addition, officers aren’t always properly trained in field sobriety testing, and checkpoint sobriety tests are often performed illegally.

With that said, the probability for errors in an arrest is high and someone charged with a DUI should pursue the best defense. Our attorneys, Michelle and Scott Suskauer, are Board Certified Criminal Trial Lawyers and are AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. We are active in the Palm Beach County and Florida legal communities and remain abreast of the latest laws, techniques, and strategies surrounding DUI defense. We have been successful in achieving excellent results for our clients through motions to suppress evidence due to illegal police procedures. The reputation that we have with judges and prosecutors is a benefit to our clients. We have served thousands of clients in Palm Beach County over the past 15 years.
